Bloom Pictures: a boutique screen production company
In 2017, creative producer Alex Reed set up Bloom Pictures to develop and deliver her vision of the best screen content, made in the best way possible.
A Robust Collaborative Process
Bloom is all about developing screen stories and talent in the best way possible – through a collaborative, supportive process.
On each project, Bloom Pictures works with a diverse range of screenwriters and directors, all with unique voices and a vision, to tell their stories in the most powerful way. Finding the right people to bring a project alive is always the priority.
Our key role is to support the development of the story, then to facilitate production and find strong local and international audiences, with funding to match.
Punching above our weight
As a boutique production company, Bloom works lean. During production and distribution of projects, our core staff bring on specific talent and resources as needed. With access to New Zealand’s world-class crews, staff and post-production facilities we can deliver high-quality content extremely efficiently.
Bloom applies for funding independently but also, when best for the project, as a co-producer with other entities. This gives us access to additional resourcing and allows for greater scope in the projects we develop.
Content for Social Change
At Bloom Pictures, the best screen content explores the complexities of human relationships and allows us to question our judgments and expectations. We create intimate stories with big themes.
